We are very happy to say that Universal Works Tokyo is now open. Our first permanent home in Japan can be found at Hankyu Men's Tokyo in Ginza, bringing together the Universal Works collection and Works Canteen, our first café, under one roof. It is a big moment for us, and one that has been a long time in the making.

TAION x Universal Works. A Future Friendship Project.

We first met TAION in a shared showroom in Paris and found plenty of common ground. Our first collection together was part of our Future Friendship Project, an ongoing series connecting Universal Works with like-minded brands and companies through shared values, mutual expertise and a belief in Peace, Love and Soul. Now in its second instalment, the idea remains the same: to build relationships across countries and borders that can develop over time, rather than beginning and ending with a single collection.

The making of Wool Fleece.

We have worked with Wool Fleece for years. Known in Italy as lana cotta, it is one of those fabrics that has become so familiar within the collection that it is easy to take for granted. Soft, warm and surprisingly lightweight, we have used it across countless styles and colourways. We took a trip to the mill to see exactly how it is made, and what we discovered ended up surprising us.
